Industry Day - Selma AL Flood Management Risk and Bank
Solicitation # W9127827RA009
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is seeking industry feedback for a flood risk management and bank stabilization project located near downtown Selma, Alabama, along the Alabama River. This project is anticipated to be a Design-Build-to-Budget procurement with an estimated construction value between 30 million and 40 million dollars. The primary scope of work includes the design and construction of approximately 1,000 linear feet of soldier-pile wall with a top elevation of 100-ft NAVD88, a secondary retaining wall reaching a top elevation of 110-ft NAVD88, and rip-rap protection at the toe of the wall to a top elevation of 90-ft NAVD88. The design will also incorporate prestressed ground anchors following Post-Tensioning Institute recommendations. As this is currently a pre-solicitation phase, the agency is conducting an Industry Day event on October 28, 2026, to gather information regarding soldier-pile wall design, construction access, and vibration mitigation strategies to protect nearby historic structures. This effort is classified as a Request for Information under NAICS code 237990 and is not a formal Request for Proposal; therefore, no contract award will result directly from this event. Primary points of contact for the project include Valerie Murphy and Jillian Saffle, with technical inquiries directed to Jonas White.
