Full Description

The US Army Natick Soldier Center (NSC) intends to award a Sole Source contract to Artisent, Inc., Boston, MA, to design and integrate soldier-centric systems during the final year of the Future Force Warrior (FFW) Advanced Technology Demonstration ( ATD) Program. Under the proposed contract, Artisent will work under FFW Technology Program Office (TPO) guidance with selected FFW subcontractors to design, develop, and integrate field-rugged FFW Basic Soldier and Leader prototype systems. The rationale for other than full and open competition is that Artisent, Inc. has been determined to be the only contractor currently capable of working with the FFW TPO and selected component providers to design and integrate the soldier centric systems required in the necessary timeframe of six months with technical support continuing an additional six months. Artisent has intimate knowledge of the FFW components, has worked on novel design concepts for each component, and developed an integration strategy that works f rom both a technical and soldier based reference point. Once the design solutions developed under this effort mature, it is anticipated that system components will be procured under full and open competition. This notice of intent is not a request for com petitive proposals. However, all comments received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this not ice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Please refer to numbered note 25.
