Reference Number: NHLBI-CSB-AR-2012-293-CSP Title: Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source to Nanostring Technologies, Inc for the nCounter System The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), on behalf of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis and award a purchase order, for the nCounter System, to Nanostring Technologies, Inc., 530 Fairview Ave N Suite 2000, Seattle, WA 98119-4261, under the authority of (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1. "(b) Soliciting from a single source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This announcement constitutes the only notice; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-60, August 27, 2012. The corresponding NAICS code is 339999-All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturing and the small business size standard is 500 Employees. The basis for the sole source determination: The sole source determination is based on the fact that the nCounter Analysis System is only sold through Nanostring Technologies, Inc. In addition, Patents are pending to support the nCounter system and include but are not limited to the use of molecular barcodes for digital gene expression, the manufacturing of the CodeSet, immobilization of individual molecules, and software/image/data analysis. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. Written responses shall reference this Notice of Intent No. NHLBI-CSB-AR-2012-293-CSP and may be submitted electronically NO LATER THAN 9:00 A.M.
