The Space and Naval Warfare System Center Atlantic intends to extend contract N65236-07-D-6867 with Scientific Research Corporation to continue providing Air Traffic Control, Ground Electronics Maintenance, and Meteorology support services for U.S. Government aviation facilities worldwide. This sole-source extension will cover a six-month period from July 9, 2012, to January 9, 2013, ensuring uninterrupted support for the Center’s Polar Program requirements until a follow-on contract is awarded. The extension is critical to prevent negative impacts on government operations and will be executed by the existing contractor, located in Atlanta, Georgia. The extension is authorized under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, which allows for a non-competitive sole-source award when only one responsible source can fulfill the agency’s requirements. This notice serves as a tentative announcement rather than a solicitation for competitive bids, though the government may consider evidence if competition could benefit the contract extension period. Interested parties may submit written comments or inquiries directly to the SSC Atlantic Contracting Officer.
