Notice of Intent to Increase the Ceiling on N66001-15-C-4006

This is a notice of intent to increase the ceiling of Contract N66001-15-C-4006 awarded on behalf of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Strategic Technologies Office (DARPA STO) for a performance period of approximately 10 months. The effort under the contract is in support of the DARPA STO Program, Tactical Undersea Network Architectures (TUNA). The DARPA STO TUNA Program involves development and demonstration of rapidly deployable buoy node designs and component technologies that will interconnect the tactical data network and the undersea fiber optic network and function as relays and energy sources. They should be rapidly deployable from existing platforms and have plug, play and operate functionality with tactical data and undersea fiber optic networks. This contract provides for TUNA Deployment Concept Development. Under this additional effort, the contractor shall design, plan, and conduct fiberpack and aerobody drop test / water impact tests and evaluate the results. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541712 Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology). Due to the nature of Research and Development efforts, DARPA STO could not have reasonably estimated the results and/or need for additional research under this program. This action includes a ceiling increase of approximately $212,251.00 and an additional four (4) months of performance.
