The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) plans to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Getty Images for its extensive stock image and video services. Getty Images is uniquely positioned as the sole vendor able to provide unlimited downloads and a vast database of over 80 million images and 50,000 stock films, including historic, scientific, editorial, and creative content. This capability enables the CDC to effectively fulfill visual communication needs that extend beyond its physical resources for travel and documentation. The contract will be awarded under specific federal regulations allowing sole source procurement, given Getty's unmatched capacity and recent consolidation of other major stock image repositories. While the CDC intends to negotiate exclusively with Getty Images, it has issued a notice inviting interested parties to express their interest or submit proposals within fifteen days of the notice issuance. This action is not a request for competitive quotations, but responses received will be reviewed to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted. Submissions must be emailed by the close of business on August 15, 2020. The contract falls under NAICS code 454110 and is managed by the CDC Office of Acquisition Services located in Atlanta, Georgia. Points of contact for this procurement include Monique Coney and Kristopher Lemaster.
