--NOTICE TO INTENT TO COMPETE TO LIMITED SOURCES

The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity at Fort Detrick, Maryland, plans to enter into a contract exclusively with Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems located on the islands of Kaua'i, Maui, Ni'ihau, and Oahu. The purpose of this contract is to develop and implement a collaborative clinical social work fellowship program for the Pacific Telehealth and Technology Hui based at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. This initiative aims to enhance clinical social work services through a specialized fellowship that addresses the unique needs of the Native Hawaiian communities served by these healthcare systems. This procurement is restricted to Native Hawaiian Healthcare Systems as defined by the Native Hawaiian Healthcare Improvement Act, and proof of eligibility will be required for participation. Although the contract is not a request for competitive proposals, responses from other qualified offerors meeting the statutory requirements will be considered if received before the deadline of August 15, 2003. The contract emphasizes limited sourcing within these specific healthcare organizations to ensure that the program is tailored to the Native Hawaiian population and leverages local expertise and resources.
