The Central Federal Lands Highway Division is soliciting bids for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of approximately 20 miles of roadway in Pahrump, Nevada, encompassing Bob Ruud Memorial Highway and Bell Vista Avenue, stretching from the intersection of State Highway 160 and Bell Vista Avenue to the California state line. The project spans two distinct environments: a rural highway corridor and an urban arterial section within Pahrump, requiring tailored solutions for safety, drainage, and accessibility improvements. Key work elements include full-depth reclamation (FDR) at both four-inch and eight-inch depths across 22 and 10 miles respectively, installation of approximately 30,000 to 50,000 tons of aggregate base, and placement of 65,000 to 80,000 tons of asphalt pavement to widen the roadway from a 24-foot to a 28-foot typical section with two-foot shoulders on each side. Drainage improvements involve the replacement of culverts totaling 1,000 to 2,500 linear feet, including the addition of headwalls to culverts 48 inches or larger and riprap pads at downstream ends to mitigate erosion, all designed to handle a 25-year design storm event. Additional scope includes signage, striping, ditch maintenance, and surveying and staking for approach roads and drainage structures, with all work governed by the FP-14 Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects in U.S. Customary Units. The solicitation, identified as 6982AF26B000003 and categorized under NAICS code 237310, is a full and open sealed bid (IFB) competition with an estimated cost range of $20 million to $40 million. Bids are due by June 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. local time, and must be submitted in sealed envelopes to the Federal Highway Administration’s Central Federal Lands Division Office in Lakewood, Colorado.
