Offshore Geotechnical Explorations for a Marine Shipping Terminal at Berth 7.

This forecast project involves offshore geotechnical explorations at Berth 7 of the former Oakland Army Base in California to support the design of a proposed Marine Shipping Terminal. The scope of work includes advancing up to three soil borings and up to three cone penetration tests to depths reaching 120 feet below the mudline. To ensure environmental safety, all drill cuttings and spent drilling fluid will be collected in drums for offsite disposal, and borings will be sealed using tremie-placed cement grout from the bottom up. The project is managed by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, Region 2 - San Francisco Bay, Oakland, under the state of California.
