The contract involves providing comprehensive Information Technology and telecommunications support services to DLA Information Operations at New Cumberland and Defense Distribution Depot Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, serving approximately 3,600 employees and handling around 6,155 trouble calls monthly. These services cover on-site hardware and software maintenance, help desk assistance, and technical support to ensure continuous functionality of all IT equipment, including network servers, workstations, printers, and portable computing devices, which are critical to mission success. Due to a lack of in-house expertise, these support services are contracted out. The current contract with Diverse Technologies Corporation is set to expire on September 29, 2011, while the procurement process for a new contract under solicitation SP3300-11-R-0024 has been delayed, pushing the anticipated award to February 29, 2012. To avoid any disruption in mission-essential IT services, DLA Information Operations seeks to extend the existing contract for six months using the option clause specified in FAR 52.217-8. This extension will be executed as a sole-source modification under the authority allowing limited competition when only one responsible source can meet the requirements. The contract falls under NAICS code 541513, with a size standard of $25 million. The extension ensures continuous IT operational support during the interim period while the new procurement is finalized. Contractors interested in future solicitations must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration system. The point of contact for this contract is Karen D. Ghani at the DLA Distribution office in New Cumberland, PA.
