Passive Radio Frequency (RF) Data as a Service (DaaS), Expansion

The Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program delivers a comprehensive solution to detect, identify, monitor, track, and neutralize unmanned aerial systems posing threats to national security, critical infrastructure, and law enforcement operations. The system enables authorities to warning operators, disrupt command and control links, seize or take over drone operations, confiscate drones, and apply reasonable force to disable or destroy hostile UAS. Its mission includes countering intelligence gathering, smuggling of contraband across borders, kinetic and WMD attacks, and cyber intrusions conducted via unmanned aircraft. As part of its expansion, the program is enhancing its Passive Radio Frequency Data as a Service by adding five new border sectors—Rio Grande Valley East, Laredo, El Paso, Yuma, and Blaine—to improve situational awareness and threat mitigation along high-risk corridors. The acquisition is structured as a sole-source contract awarded to a small business under the SBA’s Small Business set-aside program, with the North American Industry Classification System code 334511 indicating specialized electronic equipment manufacturing. The contract is managed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection under the Department of Homeland Security, with performance activities centered in Summit Point, West Virginia.
