PD-24-21 Sacramento River Floodplain Enhancement Project

The Project consists of removing existing earthen berms, grading floodplain habitat to increase frequency of swale inundation and create positive drainage towards the Sacramento River, restoring and enhancing riparian habitat, and monitoring and adaptively managing the restored land following initial restoration activities. The Project will restore and improve seasonal floodplain connectivity, improve juvenile salmonid rearing habitat, eliminate fish stranding hazards created by artificial barriers, and restore natural geomorphic and hydrologic processes within the Sacramento River floodplain. CDFW has determined that the Project is a Qualifying Restoration Project pursuant to section 1671(d)(1) of the Fish and Game Code, and the Project is expected to result in a substantial, cumulative benefit to native fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitat, or any combination thereof. This notice is to advise that CDFW issued the above-described RMP and has made the following determinations regarding the project pursuant to California Code of Regulations section 15096, subdivision (i).
