Pescadero Sandbag Station

The San Mateo County Department of Public Works is establishing a seasonal sandbag station at the junction of Cloverdale Road and Pescadero Creek Road in California, specifically at the Pescadero Creek Road pull-off. This project, identified as project number RM001, involves the placement of a station where the county will provide loose sand and sandbags for public use during winter storms. The station is scheduled to be operational annually from October through May. To ensure the protection of natural resources, the project includes the installation of Best Management Practices. The initiative has been granted a categorical exemption under CEQA Section 15304(e) as a minor temporary land use with negligible environmental effects. Administrative oversight is managed by the San Mateo County Department of Public Works, with Selena Verblaauw serving as the Natural Resource Specialist and Khoa Vo as the lead agency contact person.
