PISTOL AMMO TESTING

The Texas Department of Public Safety is soliciting proposals for the testing and evaluation of handgun ammunition for potential future duty use under solicitation number 405-26R0016230, with responses due by June 9, 2026. Quality control defects during Phase II, such as deformed cases or inverted primers, are heavily penalized using a priority factor of five. Past performance is evaluated under Texas Government Code provisions, and failure to meet minimum scores in the Vendor Performance Tracking System, being under a corrective action plan, or having recent canceled orders for nonperformance will disqualify a bidder. Evaluation follows a best value standard under Texas Government Code § 2156.007, meaning the lowest bid is not guaranteed selection.
