The University of Minnesota is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure LED lighting fixtures for retrofitting existing high-pressure sodium greenhouse lighting across the St. Paul Campus, beginning with the Horticulture Research Greenhouse in Building 370. This procurement focuses solely on materials, specifically LED fixtures, with installation and labor handled internally by the university. Respondents are required to submit their proposals electronically through the designated system by June 13, 2024, with strict adherence to submission guidelines and deadlines. The contract value is estimated to range between $50,000 and $150,000, and the project falls under NAICS code 333924, indicating a focus on industrial process furnace, oven, and kiln manufacturing. An addendum issued on May 24, 2024, has revised the description of services, particularly clarifying that contractors should provide pig tails on the LED fixtures without wiring plugs, streamlining the procurement specifications. Respondents are advised to thoroughly review the university’s supplier process guides and project documentation before submitting questions or proposals, as these contain vital procedural information and frequently asked questions. The primary contact for this project is Marsha West, reachable via email and phone, and all responses must be submitted early due to the non-negotiable deadline, with late or erroneous submissions being rejected. The procurement process emphasizes transparency, compliance with university policies, and clear communication channels to ensure the successful acquisition of high-quality LED fixtures for greenhouse lighting upgrades.
