PN: 568A4-26-SL010, EMERGENCY Replace PIV Building 5 {HS}

Contract 36C26326P0250 was awarded by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 23 to Gardner Structures for the emergency repair and replacement of a 6-inch Post Indicator Valve (PIV) feeding the fire sprinkler system in Building 5 at the Hot Springs VA Medical Center in South Dakota. The project was awarded on a sole source basis under FAR 13.106-1 due to urgent and compelling fire safety needs for a facility housing VA staff and domiciliary patients. Gardner Structures, a Native American Owned Small Business, was selected based on their local availability and existing knowledge of the facility's water systems. The scope of work includes the excavation and removal of damaged piping, concrete, and asphalt, followed by the installation of new NSF-certified, potable water-rated piping capable of withstanding pressures exceeding 250 psi. The final award amount was $61,017.28, with the work being performed on an expedited schedule. Inspection and acceptance are conducted on-site at the Hot Springs VAMC to ensure the fire sprinkler system is fully restored and the trench is properly backfilled and compacted.
