Port Maitland Breakwater Repairs

The Government of Canada, through the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, is soliciting qualified contractors for the repair of a damaged breakwater located in Port Maitland Harbour on the north shore of Lake Erie, Ontario, with coordinates 42°51’14.8”N 79°34’40.5”W. This project involves the salvage and regrading of displaced core and armour stone, the supply, delivery, and placement of new armour stone to restore the original breakwater profile, and the precise placement of all materials according to specified lines, grades, and dimensions. The contractor must provide all labour, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals required to complete the work, with the project expected to begin no earlier than September 7, 2026, and be fully completed by December 31, 2026. The solicitation follows a two-phase process: Phase One is a qualifications evaluation based on mandatory criteria, and only those who pass will be invited to submit a financial bid in Phase Two. Mandatory requirements include at least one completed marine infrastructure project within the last ten years, and ongoing good standing with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario. Failure to comply with either of these criteria results in automatic disqualification.
