The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support has issued a Sources Sought Notice to conduct market research for a compact and portable air cooler equipped with an oscillating misting fan designed to cool both indoor and outdoor environments. The device must operate continuously for 30-40 hours without requiring a water tank refill and endure harsh conditions such as extreme heat, humidity, dust, and dryness. This notice is not a solicitation for bids or proposals but aims to identify potential manufacturers capable of producing this specialized equipment. Interested parties are encouraged to carefully evaluate the product specifications to detect any manufacturing challenges and submit detailed information, including power requirements, by the specified deadline. Submissions are requested to be sent to designated DLA contacts, Tamika Hines and Michael Pinckney, by March 20, 2016. The government clarifies that responding to this notice does not obligate it to purchase any products or pay for the information provided. Should the research lead to a formal solicitation, it will be announced publicly on the FedBizOpps website, where interested firms must also monitor for updates. This initiative seeks to eventually establish an indefinite quantity contract for the supply of these portable air coolers under the NAICS code 333415, with the aim of supporting long-term operational needs.
