Portable Calibration Source

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for one Portable Calibration Source (PCS). The product provided by AECOM will be to provide the portable calibration source. The NAICS code is 334519 and the business size is 500 (# of employees). The proposed purchase order is being synopsized on a sole-source basis to AECOM. The proposed action is for the portable calibration source, for which the Government intends to synopsize and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: The PCS we are purchasing was designed to the Navy's technical specification and is fabricated and assembled by AECOM. No other PCS provides the magnetic fields, electric fields, and tracking required to calibrate magnetic silencing facilities. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to AECOM using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 20 September 2017. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 09/20/2017, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
