AI Contract Overview
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Eastern Lab is seeking qualified vendors to provide a full-service maintenance agreement for four Leica instruments used daily by its Pathology Branch for diagnostic histopathology. The contract includes preventative maintenance and corrective repairs for two Leica RM2235 Manual Microtomes, one Leica HistoCore Biocut Manual Microtome, and one Leica IP Slide Printer. The vendor must supply all labor, tools, and parts required for maintenance, with an understanding that some instruments, particularly the RM2235 models, may be at the end of their lifecycle. Respondents are required to confirm the availability of OEM parts or provide alternative sources for certified parts. The scope of work includes at least one annual preventative maintenance visit per instrument, unlimited corrective repairs with a 48-hour on-site response time, and compliance with Section 508 standards for electronic reporting unless waived. The government plans to award a firm fixed price purchase order with a base year plus four option years, contingent on parts availability. OEM respondents must clarify if any third-party providers are authorized for factory-level service, while non-OEM vendors must submit a Letter of Authorization from Leica Biosystems. Interested parties should submit a capability statement detailing company information, technical capability, lifecycle parts assessment, and past performance by the specified deadline.
