The County of San Mateo is soliciting quotations from qualified vendors to provide professional carpet cleaning services at two county facilities: the Youth Services Center in San Mateo and the Hall of Justice in Redwood City. The scope includes a deep cleaning of all carpeted areas such as cubicles, offices, conference rooms, and hallways, with special attention to heavy wear in high-traffic zones and targeted stain removal. The carpets have not been professionally cleaned for approximately eight years, so vendors are required to use methods effective for commercial-grade carpets that prevent stain wicking during drying. A warranty is required, obligating the vendor to revisit and re-treat any stains that reappear within 72 hours after cleaning at no additional cost. Cleaning operations are to be scheduled for weekends, between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, to minimize disruption of normal office activities. Prior to submitting a quote, vendors must attend a mandatory site walkthrough at both locations to accurately assess the cleaning needs. Walkthroughs are scheduled on specific dates in early to mid-February, with RSVP required the business day before the walkthrough. Quotations must include total pricing by location, description of equipment and chemicals used, estimated staffing and completion time, and proof of insurance. The solicitation is managed by the San Mateo County Probation Department, with submissions due by mid-February.
