Full Description

Scope: SC-02 - Scope of Work. Under these Specifications the Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with these specifications and the contract drawings. The work is generally described as follows: A. Removal and replacement of secondary clarifier mechanisms and accessories within existing Secondary Clarifier Nos. 5, 6, and 8 at the Perris Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility (PVRWRF), including new spiral scrapers, center column, feedwell, floor baffle, bridge, scum trough, scum baffle, scum weir, Stamford baffle, and electrical and control elements. B. The District has shortlisted two secondary clarifier mechanism manufacturers, which shall be used without equal. The District has entered into contracts with both manufacturers to obtain approved shop drawings (only) for the secondary clarifier equipment to expedite the schedule. The Contractor shall procure the secondary clarifier equipment using the approved shop drawings. The Contractor shall review the approved shop drawings and develop additional submittals as required for ancillary component associated with the clarifiers, which were not previously covered. The treatment plant must be kept in operation at all times, so only one clarifier may be worked on at a time. C. Removal and replacement of the concrete foundation around the center columns and new RAS sump. D. Rehabilitation of the existing concrete surface of the secondary clarifiers, as required. E. Coating of the secondary clarifier effluent trough, as indicated on the contract drawings. F. Replacement of the utility water piping supplying the secondary clarifiers. G. Replacement of existing sluice gates upstream of Secondary Clarifier Nos. 5, 6, and 8. H. Installation of new stop gates upstream of Secondary Clarifier Nos. 5, 6, and 8. I. Miscellaneous improvements to the secondary clarifiers, as shown on the drawings or listed in the specifications.
