The National Cancer Institute is issuing a limited competition Notice of Funding Opportunity, solicitation RFA-CA-28-004, to support the continuation of two critical biospecimen banking resources. These resources include the National Clinical Trials Network Biobanks, which support the NCTN and the Community Oncology Research Program, and the Early-Phase and Experimental Clinical Trials Biospecimen Bank, which supports the ETCTN and other early-phase experimental trials. The primary objective is to maintain national infrastructure for the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of high-quality, clinically annotated human biospecimens to enable translational cancer research, biomarker development, and the study of drug response and resistance. Eligible organizations must submit applications by February 12, 2027, to be considered for funding. All submissions will undergo a standard NIH peer-review process, and only meritorious applications will be selected.
