The Naval Air Systems Command's Air Combat Electronic Program Office intends to issue an order under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement with Rockwell Collins Government Systems to conduct a technical study focused on integrating the Mobile Users Objective System (MUOS) UHF SATCOM capability into ARC-210 VHF/UHF Tactical Radios and associated ancillary equipment. This study will analyze the implementation impacts on current and future ARC-210 radio architectures, addressing system architecture, data parsing, processing and performance requirements, and outline a schedule required for integration. Given that Rockwell Collins is the sole developer and holds proprietary rights to the ARC-210 product family, they are the only authorized source capable of performing this work. The effort, which will be completed within six months after receiving the order, aims to support the Navy’s requirements for planning, procurement, installation, and operational support of Air Combat Electronics programs. The contract will be awarded following the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) provision that allows for sole source procurement when only one responsible source satisfies the agency’s needs. The Naval Air Systems Command office, located in Patuxent River, Maryland, will oversee the contract management with Rebecca J Wathen serving as the contracting officer.
