This contract notification announces the results of a streamlined A-76 study concerning operation and maintenance services at four federal locations, including border stations in Haines, Alaska and Spokane, Washington, as well as facilities in Pocatello, Idaho, and Richland, Washington. The assessment involved government personnel representing five full-time equivalent commercial activity positions, who were previously providing these services. The outcome, decided on June 14, 2004, was to transition the work to be performed by commercial sources rather than maintaining it as an in-house government function. As a result, a solicitation or other contracting action will be issued to procure these facility maintenance services commercially. The contract falls under NAICS code 561110, which pertains to professional, administrative, and management support services. The overseeing agency for this procurement is the General Services Administration, specifically the PBS R10 Services Acquisitions Branch based in Tacoma, Washington. This action aligns with the revised OMB Circular A-76 guidelines for evaluating and potentially outsourcing federal service operations to the private sector.
