The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is seeking technical support to assist with the implementation of financial assurance requirements related to the decommissioning of licensees. The contract work will cover several key areas: providing technical assistance in evaluating financial assurance requirements for decommissioning licensees, conducting non-standard evaluations of financial assurance and decommissioning costs, reviewing financial assurance requirements specifically for fuel enrichment facility licensing, and preparing independent decommissioning cost estimates for licensee sites. The Request for Proposal (RFP) was scheduled to be released around November 2, 2004, exclusively available on the FedBizOpps website, with no hard copies issued by the NRC. Interested parties must monitor the FedBizOpps site for updates and amendments. The procurement is open to all business types, including large and small businesses, with a size standard set at $6 million under NAICS code 561110.
