The San Francisco VA Medical Center intends to award a sole source contract to Medtronic Navigation, Inc, at 826 Coal Creek Circle, Louisville, CO 80027-9710, to provide a service package for the installation, training, and support of a system to generate semi-automated boundaries of the left and right hippocampus. This package is a clinical research tool used to generate hippocampal volumes. Medtronic Navigation, Inc. will provide: 1) Installation of a warping algorithm to generate a semi-automated estimate of the hippocampus. 2) Instruction and training on installation of warping algorithm, automated intensity adjustment, and scaling of raw MRI scans. 3) Forty hours of phone support. 4) The training and support that will allow the laboratory to create additional atlases of the hippocampus for specific subject populations, specific MRI field strengths and vendors. 5) Instruction and consultation on the creation of atlases for brain structures other than hippocampus, (amygdale, entorhinal cortex, etc.) for additional exploratory analysis. 6) Libraries for the creation of semi-automated hippocampal boundaries using a warping algorithm which can also be applied to other brain structures. Any available documentation on the libraries will also be provided. This is not a request for quotes.
