The Bureau of Land Management Fire and Aviation Directorate intends to award a sole-source contract to Bighorn Information Systems for the continued development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Unit Initial Attack Model. This procurement is authorized under FAR 6.302-1, as the government has identified Bighorn Information Systems as the only responsible source capable of meeting the agency's specific requirements. The estimated value of this simplified acquisition is less than 285,000 dollars, falling under NAICS code 541511. Because this is a sole-source action, no Request for Quotation will be issued. However, the notice serves as a public posting requirement to allow other responsible firms to identify themselves if they can provide comparable services without exceeding the estimated cost. Any such notifications must be submitted to the Contracting Officer by May 13, 2010. If no viable alternative sources are identified by this deadline, the order will be placed directly with Bighorn Information Systems.
