R--University of Connecticut Internship at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System

*Please see attached Sole Source notice. The VA Network Contracting Office (NCO) 22 submits a notice of intent to award a sole-source, firm fixed-price contract to University of Connecticut. This procurement is for two (2) University of Connecticut (UConn) internships for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, supplies, equipment, travel, transportation expenses, and other related costs to provide two graduate-level (2) interns from the University of Connecticut Clinical Engineering program to participate in a two-year educational/work internship at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS). The base-year period of performance for this requirement will be 12-months with an option year period of performance of 12-months. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government and would not be cost or time prohibitive. The determination not to compete this proposed contact action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with responding to this notice. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals, and this is NOT a solicitation.
