Atomically Precise Molecules (APM)
Solicitation # DARPA-PS-26-141
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Multi X Office is soliciting proposals for the Atomically Precise Molecules (APM) program under solicitation DARPA-PS-26-141. The program aims to develop innovative synthesis techniques for programmable precision polymers (PPPs) and nonlinear optical (NLO) materials to overcome performance gaps in optical communications and LiDAR. The primary objective is the creation of scalable, fit-for-purpose materials, culminating in a prototype demonstration of a revolutionary NLO material integrated into a government-provided electro-optic modulator. Research focusing solely on inorganic materials or incremental improvements to the state-of-the-art is specifically excluded. This 36-month effort is structured in two technical phases, with Phase I focusing on developing PPP synthesis capabilities over the first 12 months. Awards will be issued as Other Transaction (OT) for Prototype Agreements under 10 U.S.C. 4022. Key requirements include CMMC Level 2 self-assessment compliance and adherence to a program-specific Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) guide.
