Replace Building Systems - Bugler Communications Center

The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Replace Building Systems – Bulger Communications Center project at the State University of New York College at Buffalo. The Project will replace mechanical and building systems at Bulger Communications Center. Bulger Communications Center, constructed in 1966, is an 88,038 GSF, four-story building that houses the majority of the lecture halls on campus. The air-handling units that serve the building are at least 60 years old and are not reliable or energy efficient. The Project will replace mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, install a new fire sprinkler system, upgrade select interior finishes, and renovate restrooms. Exterior upgrades include roof replacement, windows and entry doors. The Project includes the removal of hazardous materials and will provide upgrades to meet current code and ADA requirements. The goal of this project is to replace the windows and roof and repair the exterior facade. New windows and roof shall be compliant with current building and energy codes. The building shall achieve improved energy usage and reduction of critical maintenance as a result of this project. The construction value is estimated to be approximately $38,000,000.
