AI Contract Overview
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is seeking bids for the replacement of decking around the CXT at Middle Bass Island State Park, with a project completion deadline of May 20, 2026. The scope involves removing approximately 2,628 square feet of existing surface boards on an existing deck measuring roughly 73 by 36 feet, including stairs and ramps on both sides. The work requires inspecting the substructure for integrity, applying protective flashing tape, responsibly disposing of old materials, and installing new pressure-treated or composite decking with proper spacing and fastening. Additional work includes constructing a new stringer of steps on the west side ramp facing south and the parking lot, which will be bid as a separate item for feasibility assessment. A site visit is mandatory for proper measurement and understanding of the project requirements, scheduled by appointment between September 5 and October 3, 2025. The contractor must provide all materials, labor, and cleanup, ensuring safety, appearance, and durability of the deck. Contractors are responsible for delivering the completed work FOB destination, with freight costs and risk of loss borne by the contractor until acceptance by the State. The bid will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on a line-item basis. The contract incorporates multiple legal and administrative terms, including compliance with Ohio laws, bonding, insurance, nondiscrimination, and use of minority and EDGE vendors. It also mandates adherence to state procurement policies via the OhioBuys platform, which facilitates registration, solicitation management, and order processing. The contract is governed by Ohio law, with provisions for amendments, non-appropriation clauses, and mandatory affirmation and disclosure forms related to offshore services and data location restrictions. Site visits are required to ensure bidders are fully familiar with the project scope and conditions, and all work must be completed within the specified timeframe, with detailed invoicing and documentation procedures outlined for payment processing.
