The Department of Defense's Joint Project Management Office for Decontamination and Chemical Biological Medical Systems is seeking information from potential suppliers capable of providing human-readable time-temperature sensors designed for use with medical chemical biological defense items carried by service members. These sensors are intended to visually indicate if the time-temperature conditions have exceeded acceptable limits, as degradation of these defense items is cumulative and temperature-dependent over time. The sensors must not obscure item labels or add noticeable weight or volume. Respondents are requested to provide details on their current sensor products, including size, weight, user reading methods, quality assurance and reliability data, and real-world performance, along with any limitations. Additionally, cost data and manufacturing location information are required. This request is for information only and is not a solicitation for competitive proposals or a contractual offer. Responses must be submitted by January 19, 2006, and can be sent via mail, email, or fax to the designated contact at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command. Proprietary information will be treated accordingly, but responses will not be returned, and the government is not obligated to form any contract based on the submissions. Respondents bear all costs related to their submissions, which will be used solely for planning and information gathering purposes.
