Prevention and Mitigation of Harms Associated with Gambling - ATL 26019OverviewThe New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (NYS OASAS) recognizes the need for a comprehensive response to prevent, reduce, and delay the onset of the harms associated with gambling across the lifespan, from youth through older adults. To address this, NYS OASAS will fund community-based prevention providers to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment. The needs assessment will identify local conditions contributing to gambling harms in their community, implement Environmental Change Strategies (ECS), and other evidence-based prevention strategies to address the local conditions identified in the comprehensive needs assessment. The prevention providers will develop and implement sustainable prevention programming within their community specifically related to the prevention and risk reduction of the harms associated with gambling.Funding AvailableApproximately 20 awards will be available in the geographic locations identified below, for up to $150,000 per year for a period of four and a half years. All funding must be allocated to support specific gambling prevention services and may not be used to enhance any other services related to substance use or other behavioral health services the applicant may provide.Applicants may apply to serve the Hudson (Upper) and Central Region; however, applications for this region will be eligible for award only if at least one other region receives fewer viable applications than the maximum number of awards available for that region.Eligible applicants must be current NYS OASAS-funded providers of primary prevention services (Program code 5520).Deadline for Submission of Written Inquiries: November 25th, 2026, at 4:00 PM ESTAny inquiries or requests for clarification about this RFA must be received in writing by the "Deadline for Submission of Written Inquiries" due date and time found above and on the cover page of the RFA and must be submitted by email to contact@example.gov.
