Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA), operating Brookhaven National Laboratory under a Prime Contract with the U.S. Department of Energy, is seeking industry input for the potential procurement of two Electron and Hadron Endcap Structures intended for the Electron-Proton/Ion Collider (ePIC) detector. These structures are to be installed within the EIC interaction region at Brookhaven, with detailed specifications, drawings, and scope outlined in several attachments. This effort is currently in the information-gathering phase, with no formal solicitation or contract award at this time, and is intended solely for planning and market research purposes. Interested firms are invited to submit their capabilities and interest via email by October 17, 2025, with responses directed to Cindy Blanchard at BNL, and the process emphasizes electronic submissions. The project emphasizes compliance with technical and quality standards, referencing specific drawings and quality assurance documentation, and is categorized under a partial small business set-aside under NAICS code 238120. This opportunity provides industry participants with an understanding of BNL’s requirements for future procurement actions related to the ePIC detector components, and the information gathered will assist the DOE Office of Basic Energy Sciences in assessing available resources. All responses should include relevant capabilities and are encouraged to be comprehensive to support BNL’s planning efforts for this specialized scientific equipment.
