The Aeronautics department would like to replace an aging wall-attached telescopic seating system located at The Aeronautics Laboratory, 2410 Faculty Drive, USAF Academy, CO 80840. The Contractor will be responsible for dismantling, removing, and properly disposing of the existing bleacher set in accordance with all local, city, state, federal, and environmental laws and regulations.


At a minimum, the new bleachers must meet the following specifications:


  • Be a telescoping seating system that is attached to the wall
  • Accommodate a minimum of 60 spectators and
  • Fit within a 24-foot space
  • Retract to within 18 inches of the wall when not in use
  • Be mechanically retractable with an option for motorized operation. (There is 208 Volt, 3-phase power available 28 feet to the left of the bleacher location. 120 Volt 1-phase power directly behind the bleacher location is also available)
  • Have handrails that meet ADA specifications
  • Benches must be made of heavy-duty, impact resistant material 
  • The structural frame must be made of steel
  • Two 36” wide walkways.
  • The color of the seating must be USAFA Blue to comply with US Air Force Academy standards.
  • The Air Force Academy Logomark should be printed on the front of the bleacher in white, at a height in the middle rows of the bleachers, leaving the top and bottom rows blue (See attached JPG).
  • The Aeronautics Department Logo should be added on the accordion side walls with a filled-in white circle, black aircraft, and blue lettering. The height of half the bleachers. (See attached JPG)
  • A 10-year warranty on all structural parts
