GRTC (Greater Richmond Transit Company) is procuring the installation and servicing of a motorized fence that will be able to open as well as close. This fence will be constructed in two separate locations on the property. GRTC’s Employee Parking lot and GRTC’s bus entrance /exit lot. We also have a third location which is GRTC’s C-Van lot entrance in the rear of the facility. This gate is already in place and is a motorized gate, however the mechanical/electrical components need to be updated so the gate is fully operational. These gates will function as security barriers to keep unauthorized personnel out of the property as well as help with securing personnel and property in the facility. The gates will be accessed by badges as well as stationary transponders on the buses and vans. The motorized gates will have to be equipped with badge readers as well as transponder readers. The contractor will be responsible for providing the necessary components to have these motorized gates completely functional. GRTC already has a fence in place on the property. Part of the fencing is located at the entrance of the employee parking lot as well as the maintenance entrance. GRTC would like to have the mechanical gates installed to closely match the fencing that is already in place.
