RFP 735-2026-4430 Cooling Tower Repairs

Midwestern State University has issued Request for Proposals RFP 735-2026-4430 for the repair or replacement of the chill water return line at the East Cooling Tower of the Central Plant in Wichita Falls, Texas. The project is necessitated by a hole in the 16-inch diameter chill water return line and testing that indicates significant pipe thickness loss. The scope of work includes a base bid for replacing the carbon steel manifold piping in the basin area, with options for using ASTM A 53 carbon steel, 304 stainless steel, or schedule 80 PVC. An alternate bid is also requested for the replacement of the manifold tee in the basin area. Depending on the total project value, bidders may be required to provide a bid deposit of 5% for responses over 25,000 dollars, a payment bond for responses over 25,000 dollars, and a performance bond for responses exceeding 100,000 dollars. All materials must be new and in first class condition, and the contractor must adhere to MSU Construction Standards and Texas Tech University System 2010 Uniform General Conditions. Payment terms are net thirty days following the receipt of an electronic itemized invoice.
