RIGHT TO COUNSEL-LEGAL REPRESENTATION PROGRAM

The City of Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement, acting on behalf of the Law Department’s Office of Eviction Defense, is seeking qualified law firms and organizations to provide legal representation and services to eligible Detroit residents facing housing-related legal issues. This initiative, titled the RIGHT TO COUNSEL-LEGAL REPRESENTATION PROGRAM, aims to ensure that low-income residents have access to competent legal counsel in eviction proceedings and other housing matters, thereby promoting housing stability and due process. Proposals must demonstrate the capacity to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive legal services, with a focus on preventing unjust evictions and supporting tenants’ rights throughout the legal process. Interested parties must submit responses by the deadline of August 3, 2026, and should be prepared to meet the program’s requirements for client eligibility, service delivery standards, and reporting obligations. The solicitation is open to organizations with proven experience in housing law, tenant advocacy, or public interest legal services, and must be submitted through the designated online portal.
