SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University’s Surgical Pathology Department is seeking to replace and upgrade its existing Roche Diagnostics tissue testing equipment, specifically the Benchmark Ultra SN 311698 and SN 311699 models. The proposed five-year agreement with Roche Diagnostics Corporation, effective from March 1, 2024, through February 28, 2029, aims to enhance operational capabilities with newer, more advanced equipment. A single-source exemption was granted by the Office of the State Comptroller on May 1, 2024, allowing the procurement without a competitive bidding process due to Roche’s status as the sole source provider for this equipment upgrade. The contract will cover all New York State counties, with the location specified at 445 Lenox Road, Brooklyn, NY 11203. The procurement process was posted under solicitation number 2109623, with a response deadline of May 10, 2024. The contract size is estimated to range between $500,000 and $1,500,000. The primary point of contact for this procurement is Frantz Poyau, Purchase Associate, reachable via email at [email hidden] or by phone at [phone hidden]. This initiative is part of the State University of New York’s efforts to modernize laboratory infrastructure, ensuring improved tissue testing capabilities across all relevant NYS counties.
