SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT: VA261-12-R-0564 Due: Mar. 30, 2012 (est) Request for Proposal (RFP) - Biohazardous Waste Pickup at the following locations: VA Palo Alto Health Care System and associated outpatient clinics, San Francisco VA Medical Center and associated outpatient clinics, VA Northern California Health Care System (Martinez) and associated outpatient clinics. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment and appropriately sanitized, disinfected and labeled containers, except for "sharps" needle containers. The contractor shall also provide all supplies, materials, transportation and supervision required to provide pick-up, transport, incineration and/or acceptable disposition of biomedical infections waste, pharmaceutical and veterinary waste, chemotherapy waste, biological/pathological waste, contaminated waste and Government "sharps containers". This announcement is posted to see if any Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) type firms can provide for this requirement; if so, then this requirement may be set aside accordingly. This contract is expected to have a one year base period with four option years thereafter. The actual solicitation should be posted about March 16, 2012 with an expected award date of June 1, 2012.
