S -- Fort Bliss Natural Gas Distribution System Award

Texas Gas Service (TGS) has been awarded a ten-year firm fixed price contract for the operations, maintenance, and capital upgrades of the Fort Bliss natural gas distribution system, including the McGregor Range. The contract covers approximately 65 miles of gas distribution lines and includes renewable options for additional ten-year periods. TGS is tasked with providing all necessary resources such as labor, management, supervision, permits, equipment, materials, transportation, and other services required for the comprehensive management and improvement of the distribution system at Fort Bliss Main Post and the surrounding McGregor Range. The scope of the contract encompasses full ownership responsibilities relating to the system’s operation, maintenance, repair, and upgrades but excludes the purchase of the natural gas commodity, which is handled by a separate contract. This award is made under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2688, ensuring compliance with relevant federal regulations governing utility service agreements. The contract ensures continuous and reliable natural gas distribution infrastructure support for a critical military installation, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing the system’s performance through strategic capital investments and operational expertise.
