Description. Embassy is seeking guard services to include guards, shift supervisors, and guard force commander for the American Embassy, Embassy Annex and Ambassador's Residence in Bern, Switzerland; and guard services for the American Centers in Zurich and Geneva, Switzerland. The initial performance period will be November 2004 through October 2005 with 4 additional option years. Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Bern, Switzerland will launch, via the internet, a solicitation to require the operation and management of Local Guard Services for its Embassy in Bern, Switzerland and satellite offices in Zurich and Geneva in order to prevent unauthorized access, protect life, maintain order, deter criminal attacks against employees, dependents and property and terrorist acts against all US assets, and prevent damage to Government property. The Contractor shall furnish managerial, administrative, and direct labor personnel to accomplish all work as required in the contract. The estimated number of hours for all levels of guards is 57,634 regular guard duty hours with an additional estimate of up to 2,882 emergency hours per year. These requirements may change depending on funding availability in forthcoming periods. Anticipated performance is for one base period and four one-year periods at the option of the Government.
