The Department of Veterans Affairs' Network Contracting Office 2 plans to award a sole source contract to SaniGlaze International, LLC for tile and grout restoration services at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. This award is based on the authority permitting a sole source contract when only one responsible source can fulfill the agency’s requirements. The work involves applying the specialized EnduraGlaze plus process on floors, which includes thorough cleaning, neutralizing, re-grouting, and sealing with a durable Teflon-like coating called SaniMAX. For walls, the GroutGlaze process is to be used, entailing cleaning, preparing, re-grouting, curing, and finishing to restore grout lines effectively. The project performance period spans from March 1, 2019, through September 30, 2019. The procurement falls under NAICS code 325612, corresponding to Polish and Other Sanitation Good Manufacturing, with a standard size of 750 employees, and is classified under Product Service Code S299 for housekeeping services. No solicitation package will be issued, and while the notice is not a solicitation for competitive quotes, interested parties may submit capability statements by February 15, 2019, to demonstrate their qualifications. However, the government retains full discretion to proceed without competition based on these responses, and submissions will primarily inform any future decisions regarding competition.
