SAC-51 American River Bridge Deck Replacement

The State Route 51 Bridge Deck Replacement Project, managed by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 3, involves infrastructure work along State Route 51 in Sacramento County on the Lower American River between post miles 2.6 and 3.2. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Amendment 2 to Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number SAC-21522-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code. This amendment specifically authorizes an increase of one acre to the staging and access area footprint within the riparian habitat on the northern side of the American River. As a result of this expansion, the project description, project impacts, and compensatory measures have been updated to account for additional permanent and temporary impacts and the required compensatory mitigation. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has determined that the project will not have a significant environmental effect within its jurisdiction, provided that the specified mitigation measures are implemented as conditions of approval.
