SALE OF SCRAP METAL

The Town of Manchester, through its Water and Sewer agency, is soliciting bids for the sale and removal of approximately 45 cubic yards of loosely piled scrap metal waterworks material. The material is sold as is and where is and is located at the Water Department storage yard at 3 Line Street in Manchester, Connecticut. The successful bidder is responsible for providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for removal. Removal activities must be conducted on weekdays, Monday through Friday, between 7:30am and 3:00pm. Interested parties may schedule a viewing of the material by contacting Kevin Tait or Ethan St Peter. The response deadline for solicitation number 26/27-10 is October 29, 2026, at 3:00pm. Bidders must submit an IRS Form W-9 to certify their taxpayer identification number and status. The contract requires strict adherence to Connecticut General Statutes section 31-53 regarding prevailing wages, including the submission of true and accurate certified payroll records. Additionally, general contractors must provide proof of construction safety training for all employees within 30 days of the award, and all employees must be covered by a worker's compensation insurance policy for the duration of their employment.
