San Andreas Pope Street Safe Routes to School Project

The San Andreas Pope Street Safe Routes to School Project aims to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety for students and residents in the central residential neighborhood of San Andreas by connecting key roads to nearby schools through the construction of a 6- to 10-foot-wide multi-use asphalt pathway along Pope Street, Main Street, Lewis Avenue, California Street, Treat Avenue, and Nielsen Road. Additional enhancements include high-visibility crosswalks, street lighting, and intersection speed tables to reduce vehicle speeds and increase safety.
