Sandia National Laboratories, a government-owned and contractor-operated federally funded research and development center, actively offers collaboration opportunities through its Technology Partnerships Program. Focused on addressing national priorities such as nuclear weapons, energy and infrastructure assurance, nonproliferation, defense systems, and homeland security, Sandia engages with industry, small businesses, universities, and government entities to advance emerging technologies that support these mission areas. The program facilitates various types of partnership agreements aligned with Sandia’s management contract with the U.S. Department of Energy, enabling a collaborative environment that also aims to transition technologies to the commercial marketplace. For eligible collaborators, Sandia offers the option to enter into an Umbrella Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) combined with a Project Task Statement that includes advanced funding. This arrangement allows rapid response to urgent or extremely urgent situations—ranging from life-threatening incidents to significant programmatic impacts—within a two-hour to two-day window upon receiving quick approval from DOE. Additional information about Sandia’s capabilities and partnership procedures can be accessed via their website or by direct inquiry. Sandia is managed by National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLC, a Honeywell subsidiary, under contract with the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration.
