The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice to assess industry capability and interest in providing marine fleet maintenance services for the Soo Project Office in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The effort focuses on maintaining three vessels—one 25-foot and two 76-foot boats—along with supporting equipment for St. Marys River operations. Work includes comprehensive vessel overhauls such as disassembling hulls to bare metal, replacing engines, electronics, and navigation systems, performing maintenance on engine gensets and main propulsion units, and utilizing an Industrial Marine-Grade Composite Additive Manufacturing System for on-site fabrication of durable, mission-critical parts. The requirement is classified under NAICS code 336611 with a small business size standard of 1,300 employees and PSC J020 for ship and marine equipment maintenance. Responses will inform the Government’s decision to set aside the contract for small businesses or pursue full and open competition, but no award will result from this notice. All interested businesses, regardless of size, are invited to respond by submitting a completed questionnaire via email to the designated Contract Specialist and Contracting Officer by 2:00 PM Eastern Time on July 20, 2026. Responses must clearly indicate the respondent’s business size, and proprietary information will be protected by the Government. However, submissions are strictly for market research purposes—no payment will be provided, no feedback will be given, no contract will be issued, and no claims may be filed based on participation. Telephone inquiries are not accepted, responders will not be contacted after submission, and this action does not constitute a solicitation or obligation to proceed with an acquisition. The deadline listed in the contract data as July 21, 2026, does not override the specified response time of July 20, 2026.
