The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, intends to negotiate with Carl Zeiss Microscopy, located in Thornwood, NY, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b), soliciting from a single source, for a Scanning Electron Microscope. The unique technical specifications are the following: The Scanning Electron Microscope has the ability to scan over an area of 125 mm x 125mm which Is most of the usable area of a 150 mm wafer (covering 69.4% of the wafer) and has software that is compatible with other Zeiss microscopes at the NIST Boulder site. The NAICS Code is 333314- Optical Instruments and Lens Manufacturing, with a Size Standard of 500 employees. NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Carl Zeiss Microscopy for this requirement. Interested parties that can demonstrate they could satisfy the requirement listed above for NIST must clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice.
